Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about ReFramed sessions, recovery tools, locations, travel, safety, and the developing coaching pathway.

Q: What is ReFramed Performance & Recovery?

A: ReFramed provides individualized manual therapy, massage/bodywork, movement support, assisted stretching, and selected recovery technologies for athletes, active adults, high-output professionals, and people seeking thoughtful support for movement, recovery, and performance.

Q: Do I need to choose a modality before booking?

A: No. Book the session length that best fits your needs. The session is then adapted to your goals, history, current presentation, comfort, safety, and response. No modality is guaranteed or used with every client.

Q: What can a session include?

A: A session may include manual therapy, massage/bodywork, deep-tissue or lymphatic-focused work, myofascial and soft-tissue techniques, Fascial Stretch Therapy, assisted stretching, mobility, corrective movement education, cupping, scraping or IASTM, Human TECAR, Electrons+, PEMF, Rapid Release, compression, heat, or cold when appropriate.

Q: What is the difference between deep-tissue, lymphatic-focused, and sports-recovery work?

A: These describe different possible goals and approaches rather than rigid sessions. Deep-tissue work may use firmer or more focused techniques, lymphatic-focused work uses gentler strategies selected for that purpose, and sports-recovery work considers training demands, readiness, movement, and recovery. The approach is selected with you.

Q: What happens during a first visit?

A: You complete the required intake and consent, discuss your goals and relevant history, and complete appropriate screening. When useful, a meaningful movement, position, task, range, or symptom is checked before and after the session.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Wear or bring comfortable clothing that allows you to move and provides appropriate access to the area being addressed. Draping, positioning, pressure, and techniques can be modified for comfort.

Q: Is soreness after a session normal?

A: Temporary soreness, tenderness, fatigue, redness, bruising, or a short-term change in symptoms can occur. Report significant, unexpected, or worsening reactions and seek appropriate medical care for urgent symptoms.

Q: How long are sessions?

A: ReFramed offers Targeted 30-minute, Advanced 60-minute, and Signature 90-minute appointments. Longer sessions provide more time for multiple areas, movement integration, and reassessment; they do not guarantee a particular result.

Q: Where are sessions offered?

A: Scottsdale sessions are offered at FIX Medical Group. Payson scheduling is offered through the ReFramed booking calendar. Arizona travel recovery is available by request based on route, timing, minimum session length, equipment availability, and confirmed pricing.

Q: Can I request travel recovery?

A: Yes. Use the Contact page to request a home, training-site, team-facility, or other approved Arizona visit. Travel is confirmed individually and is not automatically booked online.

Q: Can minors receive services?

A: A parent or legal guardian must provide required consent. Guardian involvement, attendance, communication, positioning, draping, and service selection are handled according to age, safety, comfort, professional boundaries, and applicable requirements.

Q: Are Human TECAR, Electrons+, PEMF, or other devices appropriate for everyone?

A: No. Health history, pregnancy status, implanted electronic devices, blood clots, cancer treatment, infection, wounds, altered sensation, recent procedures, medications, and other factors may require a modality to be modified, avoided, delayed, or cleared by a healthcare provider.

Q: Is ReFramed a medical clinic?

A: ReFramed services do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe medication, provide physical therapy or chiropractic care, replace medical treatment, provide emergency care, or issue return-to-play clearance. Referral or medical evaluation may be recommended when a need falls outside scope.

Q: What is ReFramed Performance Integration?

A: It is a developing coaching pathway connecting readiness, recovery, awareness, behavior, identity, and real-world performance through the Athlete, Artist, Scientist, Philosopher, and Body–Mind Balance framework. It is currently listed as Coming Soon.
